The energy crisis led to significant disruptions, prompting the adoption of various measures to protect consumers and maintain market stability. The European Commission swiftly responded with the REPOWER EU plan and emergency measures which provided support in tackling the crisis.

While some countries leveraged pre-existing mechanisms, others introduced innovative solutions that not only mitigated the crisis but also influenced subsequent EU legislative changes, particularly in prudential regulation.

The report examines these measures and reflects on the lessons learned. Intended as a resource for informing future policy decisions in the energy sector, it underscores the importance of adapting regulatory approaches to create more resilient and consumer-centric energy markets.
