Report on Regulatory Aspects of Self-Consumption and Energy Communities

This document seeks to analyse the regulatory implications of new and developing practices, such as self-consumption, Citizen Energy Communities and Renewable Energy Communities. CEER developed a regulatory approach to analyse these developments in the energy market. The analysis is based on several case studies submitted by NRAs. The document will serve as both an overview of ongoing developments in the respective Member States and also address regulatory challenges at an early stage, to enable innovation whilst ensuring that consumers benefit from these new practices.
